About this piece
"Canada: These Things We Hold Dear"
Each of us has a box of treasured photographs which speak to us in murmurs and memories of
snapshots suspended in time. The vast and terrific beauty of the True North is captured in this truly
glorious book designed to 'Capture Canada' on film. The book is titled "CANADA: These Things We
Hold Dear" and is intended to be an Album of Photographic Memories. It is also a testament to the
virtuosity of the prepress and press departments at Herzig Somerville, Ltd. By use of the stochastic
screening method, and seven colours, the stunning photos fairly take one's breath away. The book's
author acknowledges the Craftsmen at Herzig Somerville thusly: "It is never 'Is it as good as it can be?'
It is always 'Is it perfect?'" The judges agreed, it was a perfect use of emerging technologies.
