For the production of

"Thrill Rides"

According to the website of the American Coaster Enthusiasts, there are currently 1,538 roller coasters in operation around the globe. But not one of them can compare to the powerful evocation of a simpler era as presented by "Thrill Rides", published by The Hadley Companies.

In keeping with the break neck pace of change in the graphic arts, Thrill Rides combines a number of graphic arts techniques to achieve a mesmerizing effect. Beginning with a printed press sheet, a seriagraph artist uses the printed sheet as a base over which is hand drawn a mask which highlights all the details in the print that will enjoy the 3-D or raised effects. Then the mask is used to create screens for the silk screen application of a proprietary, specially formulated material which is applied to create the 3-D look and feel. Finally, an overall UV coat is applied to further protect and enhance the print. This process which was developed by San Diego Arts and D&D Processing, can be used on both canvas and paper. It is as much a work of art as the art print to which it is applied.

The art print was printed by Munson Printing Company of Redwing, MN., on a Heidelberg Speed Master press using Kohl & Madden inks. The artist was Helen Flint, and the seriagrapher was Don Chamberlain of D&D Processing in San Diego CA. Lisa Laliberte Belak, Director of Art Publishing for The Hadley Companies in Bloomington, MN oversaw this gorgeous production come to life.
