The Braden Sutphin Best Flexographic Printing Award goes to
Stevenson The Color Company , and Sara Lee and Salem Label for their collaboration and innovation in developing the winning entry called: Hills Bros. Coffee, Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure.
The coffee can label is aimed at the rapidly growing audience of NASCAR racing enthusiasts, but it is the fast moving technology of the label production process that is so exciting. The prepress work was able to go direct to a flexo plate, the printing was done on a foil substrate and yields for perhaps the first time, virtual offset print quality while using the flexo process.
