For the
production of
"Before the Flood Catalogue"
This
entry is amazing as it uses the monumental photos of Ed Burtynsky to
collapse for us the nearly unimaginable scale of the Three Gorges Dam
project that will dam the middle segment of the world’s third longest
river, China’s Yangtze River. The colossal project sets in motion what
some fear will be cataclysmic change. The gargantuan scope of the
photos are confined in a beautiful book which in turn is packaged with
enormous craft – binding and yet barely holding the saga of the world’s
largest hydroelectric project on the river the old China hand John
Hershey described as a “long strip of raw, naked, cruel power.” Our
congratulations to C.J. Graphics, Inc of Toronto as they win the
inaugural m-real Best Packaging Award.
