RR Donnelley Selects EFI Prograph Publication Planning Software for 14 Plants

North America’s Largest Printer Standardizes on EFI Job Management System

Donnelley & Sons Company (NYSE: RRD) has selected and implemented Prograph® as the job management system for their magazine, catalog and retail insert manufacturing platform. With 14 North American plants that produce magazines, catalogs, and retail inserts, RR Donnelley is EFI’s largest Prograph installation to date.

EFI Prograph offers powerful, comprehensive planning capabilities – including versioning, complex imposition and distribution tools – that allow printers to make more informed business decisions, and streamline their production process. EFI recently began shipping version 6.0 of Prograph that includes a simplified architecture to make installations and upgrades easier and faster; a more intuitive user interface; and a brand new Press Optimizer feature that provides computer-aided press planning.

Prograph’s unique ability to automate the press and bindery planning process, producing accurate manufacturing instructions efficiently, and the ability to integrate seamlessly with a number of RR Donnelley’s publishing and retail services customers were key factors in the buying decision. The enhanced system functionality was also a deciding factor for RR Donnelley.
