Your Craftsmen Network at work
Kathy Underwood of Jobs Printing and Mailing and the North Shore Club called Headquarters in search of any information about the WAZZU computer virus. Kathy had provided a customer’s computer disk to another printer and there was a concern that the WAZZU virus may have been lurking on the customer’s disk and thereby have infected the printer’s computer system. Headquarters e-mailed the CraftNet Committee in search of their help. International Webmaster Dan Millsip of Renaissance Web Creation and the Fraser Valley Club found information about the virus on the internet and e-mailed the results of his research to Headquarters who forwarded it to Kathy.
Martie Hughes of SB Services and the Buffalo Club e-mailed Headquarters looking for leads who could discuss with her the ins and outs of lettershop production. Headquarters suggested she contact Caesar Fontana of Jobs Printing and Mailing and the North Shore Club. Martie phoned Caesar found him very helpful to her quest and e-mailed Headquarters with the comment: "THIS is what Craftsmanship is all about!"
If you have a problem finding a solution or have an example of how the Craftsmen Network has recently benefited you, we'd like to hear about it. Just send an e-mail to International Headquarters.
Last month for Gallery entries
With only one month left before the close of the International Gallery Call for Entries we'd like to share a few recent examples of how the Gallery can help your IAPHC in awareness, membership, networking and of course, financially too.
This past week we received a fax from AQ PrintWorks in Nurioopta, South Australia indicating that they had received our press release about the International Gallery and wanted to make sure they could enter again this year!
Also during the past week we received a Seattle convention registration from Earl Gibbs an educator member and Gallery Chair of the Winnipeg Club who will be able to attend the Seattle Convention thanks to the 50/50 promotion. 53 entries are coming from Winnipeg area printers thanks to Earl's efforts.
From a networking perspective it was nice to be able to steer International Membership Chair Sue Schmidt towards a Milwaukee area printer/finisher when she needed a special fastener for a job. We knew about Letterhead Press and its capabilities thanks to their first time Gallery entry this year.
And for another perspective on the benefits of the International Gallery of Superb Printing be sure to read Glenn Woolley's commentary about Gallery and the 50/50 promotion in the online version of the Hamilton Club Bulletin.
New at iaphc.org
If you haven't had opportunity yet, be certain to visit the newly available Hamilton Club site, constructed by Kevin Morgan, son of Hamilton Club President Shawn Morgan and the IAPHC Second District web site which encompasses the Mid-Hudson Club site both of which have been constructed by David Albrecht of the Mid-Hudson Club.
