This week finds us preparing for the annual Mid-Year meeting being held in Las Vegas Nevada. We look forward to the opportunity of Sharing our Knowledge with the many members who have already confirmed their attendance.
Your Craftsmen Network at work:
Sharon Knudson of Icon Media Services and the Sierra Nevada Club needed sources for web and sheetfed printers in the Toronto area. HQ faxed a request to Brian Ardon, president of the Toronto Club, and Brian faxed six pages of detailed leads the next day
Dan Millsip, of Renaissance Web Creation Inc. and the International Webmaster received an inquiry from a gentleman in London, England looking for a North American source for lenticular printing. HQ asked first time International Gallery entrant (1997) Mark Mullvaney of Letterhead Press in Waukesha, Wisconsin for assistance and he instantly provided leads from his contact network.
Michael Smith of All Print and the Adirondack Club needed to bring a client to small claims court and wanted some advice about how to proceed. Kevin Keane provided the advice and sent a copy of the revised Industry Trade Customs for incorporation in his future invoicing.

Last Wednesday we received an e-mail informing us that our CraftNet site has been awarded the LookSmart Editor's Choice Award which "conveys the highest standard for providing a useful and high quality website". LookSmart is a subsidiary of The Readers Digest. Thanks to LookSmart for finding our site worthy of their award (glad we used the spell checker!).
The February issue of Know More Notes is online for your perusal. It's interesting to note that of the fifteen companies who are mentioned, eleven of them have websites (yes, links are included) and two of the four who don't yet have websites are working on them.
The Vancouver Club has added a new section to their site to promote their upcoming Print West '97 trade show. Be sure to check this one out.
Recent postings in the Prepress Discussion section of the IAPHC forums show the potential of our rapidly expanding Share Your Knowledge network. Last week, Dave Albrecht of the Mid-Hudson Club was at GATF's Technology Alert! in Pittsburgh where he found a solution to a question about remote printing and replied directly from the conference!
