Your Craftsmen Network at Work
Dorian Mell of the Portland Club called IAPHC Headquarters looking for leads on a printer who had a press at least 60" wide and located preferably on the West Coast. Headquarters put out an "all points bulletin" via e-mail to those Craftsmen with e-mail addresses. Within 24 hours Norm Belanger of the Calgary Club had provided two leads in Canada (with a 41% exchange rate -- it might be economically prudent for Dorian to check them out), and John Stamatiades of the Los Angeles Club was contacted by Bob Mills of the Antelope Valley Club after Bob got the all points e-mail request for assistance from THE KNOWLEDGE NETWORK OF CRAFTSMANSHIP and John provided Headquarters four leads on the West Coast for Dorian. All Craftsmen with e-mail addresses should be encouraged to make certain HQ has their e-mail address!
Sue Jordan of The Printed Image and soon to be president of the Albuquerque Club e-mailed Kevin Keane on a Friday afternoon at IAPHC Headquarters with a request for assistance. A client had purchased foil stamped letterhead and was having trouble with the foil peeling off when used for individually personalized letters run through a laser printer. Kevin put out an all points e-mail request for assistance and Sue sent Kevin an e-mail at 9:49 AM on Sunday April 27th saying: "Hey Kevin, this works really neat! I have already gotten two responses!" Sue was told by Norm Belanger of the Calgary Club and Martie Hughes of the Buffalo Club to use an ink jet printer.
Bruce Kenworthy of Phoenix Press and the Calgary Club called Kevin Keane at IAPHC Headquarters and said he had a Knowledge Network question. Bruce was printing some desktop day-at-a-glance calendars and wanted to know who he could talk to about finding a source of supply for the plastic holders for the calendars. Kevin gave Bruce the phone number for George Lord of At-A-Glance (formerly Keith Clark) and the Southern Tier Club.
If you have a problem finding a solution or have an example of how the Craftsmen Network has recently benefited you, we'd like to hear about it. Just send an e-mail to International Headquarters.

Late Breaking Update News:
The Seattle Club is now has completed their website and is now the latest addition to CraftNet.
The 11th District now has all its clubs online using the new Int'l CraftNet Browser Update pages. These pages will be available to all IAPHC clubs in the near future. The 11th District has graciously offered to be a test site while we work out any bugs. You can view the following 11th District clubs using the Browser Update pages: the Diablo Club, the East Bay Club, the Fresno Club, the Silicon Valley Club, the Redwood Empire Club, the Sacramento Club, the San Francisco Club, and the Sierra-Nevada Club. Also visit the previously posted Yosemite Area Club (which does not use the Browser Update pages).
