Your Knowledge Network
at Work (Y'KNOW?)

By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO

Tuesday Morning News is a regular forum for requests from individual members seeking assistance from what we have come to call "Your Knowledge Network At Work, Y'KNOW?" No one member can possess the combined knowledge, skillsets and experience of thousands of other members no matter where located. Knowledge that is freely shared and often at warp speed. All you gotta do is ask. Y'KNOW? This week's requests:
From Jody Sorsen of the Fort Wayne Club, but resident in Minneapolis and employed at Printed Media Companies, a division of Gannett Offset: We are looking for a supplier of printed "belly bands" or preferably a converter of such a product that we could then print ourselves. The specs are: a sheet of 6" x 23.5" printed 2/0 or 4/0 on a heavy stock 80# - 100# offset/white kraft. They are then to fold over and sealed with a 1/2" overlap. This will give you a belly band 6" x 11.5" that can be opened to allow a newspaper to be slipped inside. You can reach Jody via e-mail at jody.sorsen@printedmedia.com
Sue Jordan, president of the Albuquerque Club is looking for a source for "police tape" the type of tape that is used to seal off crime scenes. “I was looking for a source to print up rolls of custom printed ‘crime scene’ tape, non-sticky of course. Obviously it wouldn’t say crime scene, but a custom printed phrase.” Our old friend Cy Stapleton provided her two leads earlier this month, but Sue would like to hear from you with any additional ideas. You can e-mail her at printedimage@juno.com
Stan Crandall of the Redwood Empire Club called looking for the manufacturer of a source for a paper line called Paparazzi. We have consulted with several of you who can recall hearing of this particular stock, but thus far no one has found the outfit which makes the line. You can e-mail Stan at scrand3337@aol.com
Walt Gutowski Jr of the Grand Rapids Michigan Club called looking for a source to provide printed 5' x 7' magnetic cards. Walt can be reached at walt@iserve.net
