Quick Hits and Bits
We want to thank Beth Swedberg of General Litho Services in Minneapolis and Lory Johnson of G & R Publishing in Waverly, Iowa for their recent orders of the new video tape: The Professional Guide to Graphic Design and Commercial Printing. We like to order these videos in bulk and wanted to remind all of you that this tape makes an excellent primer for the new hire, the beginning sales rep, or the CSR in training. If you'd like us to fax you a copy of the order form, please let us know.
Membership-at-large renewals. We are pleased to see the number and manner in which our members-at-large are renewing their IAPHC membership. Half of the recent batch of renewals were for three years! Our thanks to David Curtis, Tom Cooper, David Harding, Bishop Kiecana, Mike McManus, Corinne Ort, Don Sebold, Charlie Stryker, and Beth Swedberg for their continuing investment in Craftsmanship.
You know, it occurs to us that we have some friends and acquaintances who receive an occasional teaser copy of this e-mail newsletter who really should consider the remarkable value of IAPHC membership. Steve Barthel, Denny Brisley, Roger Buck, Chris Carson, Judy Cochrane, Mike Emanuelli, Lynella Grant Ralph Hammond, Renee Melancon, Chuck NeSmith, Cy Stapleton -- have you considered becoming an IAPHC member-at-large? Many of you used to be a member..... why not re-connect with Craftsmanship in 1998? At $50 per year, we remain the most economical graphic arts association around. Call us at 800-466-4274, or send me an e-mail and we will get you all fixed up.
Rochester Convention commemorative pins are now on sale. Four Omaha Club members have their pins and Cheryl Adams of the Erie Club just ordered hers. Only $10 a pin, to help assure the success of the 79th IAPHC Convention to be held in Rochester New York in August, 1998. Send your order along with cheque to IAPHC Headquarters, 7042 Brooklyn Blvd, Minneapolis MN 55429.
Don't forget the always wonderful "The Printing and Graphics Expo", February 4-5, 1998 hosted by the Columbus (Ohio) Club of Printing House Craftsmen. Check their website at www.bannister.com/page
The latest Platinum Craftsmen member (resembling a leprechaun) just submitted his check for $100 to support the ideals of pride filled, passionate Craftsmen everywhere. Platinum Craftsmen make a voluntary contribution to support the IAPHC. Any member or Club is eligible to go Platinum too!
Las Vegas Mid-Year Meeting reminder. The IAPHC Mid-Year meeting in Las Vegas, February 6-8, 1998 at the Stardust Resort and Casino is fast approaching. If you are planning to attend, and we haven't taken your reservation, please notify us pronto to assure your place. Among the highlights of this year's meetings will be a chance to pick the brains of two champion membership recruiters, the fabulous Mr. Lou Woods of Des Moines and the fantastic Mr. Ed Levy of North Jersey and New York. In addition, Dr. John Leininger of Clemson University and the Triangle Club has done yeoman's work in surveying IAPHC elected officers to establish prioritized subject matter for focus group discussion.
