Rochester Convention Reminders Time is flying by. If you are planning to attend the Rochester Convention or know someone who is, please make sure all the registration materials are completed, hotel accommodations booked and transportation arrangements are in place, etc. Delegate credentials are needed for voting delegates. We have seen a flurry of registrations this week, many from old friends met at Conventions past. We hope to see you in Rochester next month also. New International Printing Week Chair Our congratulations to Dr. John Leininger of Clemson University on his appointment as International Printing Week Chair effective immediately. As a reminder the Theme for the 1999 celebrations of International Printing Week is "Concept through Completion: Clear Communication demands Print." The dates are set for January 17 -23, 1999, the 55th observance of International Printing Week. John will also be completing his term as 7th District Governor this year. He would welcome your assistance in terms of donating materials, (label stock, poster stock, etc); or perhaps press time; or perhaps other less usual items -- for example, we know that several skits for International Printing Week have been written over the years. It would be wonderful to be able to get copies circulating again, with credit to the playwrights of course. International Gallery Sponsors We received official confirmation this week that Baldwin Graphic Products is sponsoring the Baldwin Graphic Products Best Annual Report Award; we received the sponsorship check from Blanks USA which is sponsoring the Blanks USA Most Unique Award; and thanks to the personal marketing efforts of Fran Pagel of the Central Wisconsin Club who was an International Gallery judge this year, we received confirmation that Fran's employer Worzalla Publishing is sponsoring the Frank C. Anderko/Worzalla Best Book Award. Look for an upcoming issue of Quick Printing magazine which features an interview we did with Karen Lowery-Hall of that magazine in which we were offered a great opportunity to sing the praises and value of Craftsmen membership as well as tout the success of this year's International Gallery of Superb Printing.
