By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO Y'KNOW Request From International Gallery judge Dan Marantz of Ace Printing and the North Jersey Club: "I have a customer who is having a magazine printed in Europe, but wants to bring it back on this side of the Atlantic. It's a very high quality magazine, and they are looking for a printer. If you can help, I would appreciate it. If you need more info I can have them talk directly to you." You can reach Dan via e-mail at DMPrintAce@aol.com The Craftsmen Foundation rolls on Our thanks to Dr. Ervin Dennis of the Waterloo-Cedar falls Club for his kind contribution to the ever growing Craftsmen Foundation. The generous efforts of so many members are acknowledged with sincere gratitude. Good News from Dayton "I was in Dayton last night for their meeting. It was great. There were a goodly number of people in attendance. Bill Orr (Fifth District Deputy Governor) has worked very hard with the Dayton Club and it is starting to pay off for them. The meeting was by Apple Computer. They spoke about ColorSync, Apple Script and had the presentation running on the new G3 machine. It was very informative and fun. There was great interaction between the presentors and attendees. I think Dayton made a definite impression and is on the way back." Cathy Hatfield of the Greater Lexington Club in an e-mail of 19 June. Congratulations Betti! On 11 June, Second District Governor Jeff Mayer presented Betti Verbert a longtime member of the Mid-Hudson Graphic Arts Association (a member affiliate of the IAPHC) with the Premier Craftsman award. Betti is the first Mid-Hudson member to receive this prestigious award. For those who may not be aware, in order to qualify for the Premier Craftsman award, a member must have been involved on the Club, District and International levels. Betti far surpassed the minimum requirements. She continues her wonderful work as Club Bulletin editor (ten years running) all the while helping the club organize a very successful 20th anniversary celebration complete with mini-trade show. Our congratulations to Betti, and our offer to send a copy of the requirements for the Premier Craftsman award via fax to anyone who would like to see them. Best Wishes to a Craftsman with heart Just before the 8th District conference began on June 12, we received the wonderful news about a hard working member of the St. Louis Club and a proud contributor to the Craftsmen Foundation, that Mr. Mark Reinhold, had been the fortunate recipient of a donor heart. After grueling heart transplant surgery it appears the prognosis is good. We join your prayers with ours in hoping that Mark may return to his family and ultimately his craft for many more productive years. |
