Club and IAPHC News
By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO

Chairman's Message # 6 now Online

Chairman Larry Nelson, who truly does have a gift for the written word, has written a very powerful message about where the IAPHC must move, as the millennium appears mere moments away. Take the time to read it (your Club bulletin editor will be sharing it in your Bulletin as well). Go to www.iaphc.org/services/chairman/cr_reprt.htm

Platinum Shines

Our thanks to Larry Leece of the Lansing Club and John Lynch and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls who are the latest Craftsmen members to put the exclamation point behind their personal pride and passion for Craftsmanship! by voluntarily donating $100 to assure that the IAPHC remains a viable entity for Sharing of Knowledge by future generations. This thing called Platinum would be a wonderful case study in passion. An idea, a mere passing notion, somehow has taken root and begun to flourish. Fifty-Five members and four or five Clubs have already said, Yes! I want to be a part of this thing called Platinum. In truth, as with many a great notion, we have been feeling our way along with this thing called Platinum. It is NOT a Club; It is NOT an elite Caste.
It IS about passion. And often Passion becomes love. These people who have seen fit to perpetuate the ideals of the IAPHC by making a voluntary contribution to a thing called Platinum, a thing whose semantics are still inchoate, still taking shape, deserve to be commended.
They want to help lay a foundation for the next Century of Craftsmanship. Maybe, to borrow a line from a different program, a different thing, they want to help create a Foundation for the Future.
Twenty five more individual members, and several other Clubs have asked that we send them an invoice for this thing called Platinum. They don't want anything for themselves, they just want something called Craftsmanship to be there for their kids.
Bully for them I say!

Passion is also spelled Commitment

We also want to recognize other Clubs and members who go out of their way for the betterment of this volunteer Association. Tammie Marie Aaron, formerly of the Pittsburgh Club has moved to Birmingham AL and has just presented the world with a bouncing baby boy. Amidst the excitement in her personal life she still found time to send in a check for membership-at-large.
The Lima Area Club should be accorded our high praise for seeing fit to send their membership dues for the entire 1998-1999 year. The check was received today!
The Seattle Club deserves our thanks for in the Monthly Report submitted today by Glen Ripper, Club President, is this news: "The dues increase will be passed by the Seattle Club. Our club also voted to give $500 to help support CraftNet."
The Fraser Valley Club ordered a huge quantity of Plaques and Club Gallery Certificates and paid the invoice upon presentment. Ditto the Mid-Hudson Club for plaques and membership pins.
The Calgary Club had a record setting Club Gallery and looks to be on track to substantially increase their entries to the International Gallery of Superb Printing which is now open for business and accepting your entries, right now!
