Incredible Craftsmanship
By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO

- Last week we noted that the Lima Area Club has pre-paid an entire year's worth of dues. And Elayne Redding, the treasurer of the Lima Area Club wrote: "We would like to issue a challenge to other clubs who are financially able to also pay their dues ahead of time. If we all pitch in, maybe it will help keep the cash flowing. After all, 'United we stand, divided we fall.'" After last week's issue of Tuesday Morning News went to e-mail press, the Mid-Hudson Club sent a note saying they will gladly remit the full annual dues at the start of the next fiscal year. And today, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Club paid the first quarter of next year's dues in advance. For those of you who are closet CPA's, with a fondness for accrual versus cash basis accounting intricacies, yes we are treating these advance payments as prepaids on the balance sheet. Which means they are not shown as 1997-1998 income.

- Thus far, the Sixth District and the Des Moines Club have very generously agreed to each pay for one month's server rental space for CraftNet. Their $300 contributions (respectively), help keep CraftNet accessible to all. We thank them for their support.

- Platinum continues to strike a responsive chord with many Clubs and members. Several weeks ago when the 11th District met, June Azvedo and Betsey Webster of Sacramento, Stan Crandall and John Peck of Redwood Empire, and Duane Rustad of East Bay all issued their respective personal checks to support the Platinum initiative. In fact, after all was said and done in the 11th some $2,800 of pledges were forthcoming, which is still another testament to the 11th District! Meanwhile Gregg Moser of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Club sent his Platinum check today and a Club in the Fifth District which must temporarily remain anonymous, has agreed to Platinum sponsorship as a Club as well as hearing from three members who also wish to voluntarily support Platinum.

Communication

Increased Communication was one of the Five Supporting Goals to the IAPHC Mission Statement as brought before the Seattle Convention delegates last August by our Chairman Larry Nelson. Here's a little factoid to consider (and explains why we ceaselessly beg you for member's e-mail addresses): the past four issues of Tuesday Morning News have comprised more than 30 (THIRTY) 8.5 x 11" printed pages of Industry news and Club and IAPHC news delivered right to your computer screen. No matter how you slice it, that's INCREASED COMMUNICATION!

That's All Folks.
