By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO Another CraftNet Award Our Kudos to Webmaster Dan Millsip for the latest award to be garnered by the IAPHC's award winning website, CraftNet, at www.iaphc.org This prestigious recognition comes from Web Surfer's Digest; "Congratulations!!! Your site has been chosen as a WSD Excellent site! We really loved what you've done with your web site, both from a design point of view and a more general view. Your site looks just great, it features a very rich content and is, above all, very fun to surf. Please wear your award with pride, as very few sites make it to be awarded the WSD Excellent site award." CraftNet Challenge II Our thanks to both the Seattle Club and to the Eleventh District for their recently received $500 (each) contributions to the continued development of our award winning site. In Re: Tuesday Morning News "This is one of the best mailing lists I've ever been privileged to be on. Keep it coming and thanks for having added me." Woody Ryder, Minuteman Press International, Inc., Farmingdale, New York "Thank you for adding me to the list. Since parting from Multigraphics, I'm not in the loop of business equipment etc., news and I really do enjoy it. Keep up the good work." Kevin Tracy, Detroit Club "I want to compliment you on the timeliness of your comments and the great service that you are providing." Jesus J. Rodriguez, Pittsburg State University (Kansas) International Gallery of Superb Printing We want to salute John Green, president of the Rochester Club for a useful insight regarding Gallery participation. John's firm regularly enters some of the national printing competitions. He pointed out to his management that since the entry fee for the International Gallery is less than half the initial entry fee for the PIA Premier Print Awards or the Gold Ink Awards, his employer has a greater (and more economical) chance of impressing a larger number of existing customers with the firm's world class ability by entering more pieces in the International Gallery. We were interviewed by the Chicago Tribune last Wednesday evening, on behalf of 1997 first time International Gallery entrant and winner StephenoFossler a producer of super high quality foil seals and labels. Another indication of how participation in this event can be a glorious opportunity to leverage any success you enjoy into excellent marketing opportunities. We also want to thank the Central Illinois Club for their submission of 11 International Gallery entries. Remember, the Gallery is open for business. We are going to break the 3,000 level of entries this year through the combined efforts of each and every Craftsmen member. If you have entries, why not send them in right now! More Prepaid Dues and Platinum Support Our hat is off to the Eighth and Eleventh Districts. In the past week the St. Louis Club prepaid the first quarter of dues for 1998-1999; so did the Topeka Club, and the Albuquerque Club paid two quarters in advance! We also acknowledge the newest Platinum contributions: Gregg Moser of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Club, and Parkade Printers also of Waterloo-Cedar Falls, and Karl Tartsch of the Sierra Nevada Club and the Fresno Club. It really is remarkable how much people are willing to do. Thank you all! |
