Your Knowledge Network Obviously Works (Y'Know?)
By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO

As long time readers of Tuesday Morning News can attest, we regularly feature inquiries from members with a specific need. We all recognize that no one member can possibly retain the sum total of all the knowledge, experience and skills of thousands of Craftsmen members located the world over. We call this unbelievably vast library -- Your Knowledge Network. And when one member located perhaps thousands of miles away, helps another member with valuable knowledge which is freely given, we call this exchange: Your Knowledge Network Obviously Works, Y'KNOW?

From Cincinnati Club Member Gerry Macdonald: "I am planning a program about faster make readies in the web pressroom between the last sellable book of the old job and the first sellable book of the next job. If anyone has any hints or short cuts, please send them to me at GMacdo2785@aol.com "

Also this week we were able to help former Rochester Club president Karen Solomon (nee Adams) who needed a list of trade shows coming up in North America. This kind of Y'KNOW inquiry typifies what we do here in Minneapolis. It may be invisible and of no current importance to every other member when Karen receives the information she has requested, but that is what our mission Statement compels us to do for you, each individual member, whenever it is your turn to need help from Your Knowledge Network. In fact, as I'm writing, Karen called again, looking for a list of all graphic arts related associations in North America -- no problem.

Another Y'KNOW request came in late Friday afternoon from Pat Strelitzer of the Central Wisconsin Club. Her club had a meeting program on Hexachrome printing and Pat wanted to know more. We faxed her a copy of Know More Notes written in May of 1994 which covered Hexachrome and also gave her a lead in Salt Lake City, Utah.
