By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO - Kodak-Polychrome donates $5,000 to sponsor opening ceremonies of the 79th IAPHC Convention to be held in Rochester, New York in August 1998. We are indebted to Fifth District Governor Ray Rafalowski for coordinating this generous contribution. - Heidelberg USA donates $6,000 to sponsor Tuesday Morning News on CraftNet. Our thanks to immediate past IAPHC Chairman Chris Kerlick for coordinating this magnificent donation. - Western States Envelope, home of incoming Sixth District President Pete Peterson and other dedicated Milwaukee-Racine Club members has agreed to join the growing roster of 1998 International Gallery Sponsors. Thanks to IAPHC Secretary-Treasurer Tony Sarubbi for coordinating this wonderfully helpful sponsorship. We are pursuing International Gallery Sponsorships with AB Dick Company, Baldwin Graphic Systems, (thanks to a contact provided by IAPHC Chairman Larry Nelson) and Van Son Holland Ink, and Agfa, and Adobe Systems, and Potlatch and Spectratek and others. Can you help us with your unique contacts? - CraftNet racks up another prestige award: Best of the Planet People's Choice Award 1998. This award is rated Five Stars by Focus Associates, indicating once again how impressive our site has become to folks within and without our industry. Congratulations once again to our incredible webmaster Dan Millsip! - The Calgary Club submits 95 International Gallery entries, an increase of 20 over 1997. Is your Club able to submit its entries sometime soon? - The IAPHC Executive Officers, recognizing the powerful support for the IAPHC found in every corner of your Association have decided to transform the previously known platinum program into the Craftsmen Foundation. The Craftsmen Foundation offers to interested members, Clubs, Districts and companies who share our goals the opportunity to support the IAPHC through voluntary donations. These donations may be once in a lifetime or continuing at the sole discretion of the donor. Those folks who kindly responded to the original program as it took wing during and in the months after the 1997 Seattle Convention by donating $100 or more will be recognized as Craftsmen Foundation Founders. No one should think that the Foundation is in its final form. Much thoughtful planning and work is yet to be done. But the seeds for a Foundation for the Future of the IAPHC have been well sown and deserve our celebration. - Ron Smith of the Albuquerque Club, as per the preceding item, joins many fellow individual members as the newest Craftsmen Foundation Founder. Thanks Ron! So too we thank the East Bay Club for their generous gift of $500, following the lead of several other Clubs and Districts in showing their support for the ideals of your Association. - Kudo's also to the East Bay Club for pre-registering four members for the 80th IAPHC Convention to be held in St. Louis, Missouri in August of 1999. Now that's advance planning and tremendous support from a Club that may not be the biggest in the Association, but surely has a very large heart indeed! |
