By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO We want to thank the latest contributors to The Craftsmen Foundation: $200 from Mark Reinhold of the St. Louis Club $200 from the Syracuse Club $100 from Jeff Cooper of the Sierra-Nevada Club $100 from Sharon Knudson of the Sierra-Nevada Club $500 from the Silicon Valley Club. These kind efforts mean that Foundation assets have pushed well over the $11,000 mark. We also want to thank the Sixth District for their gracious gesture in providing for a month's server rental fee for our award winning website CraftNet. Got Golf? Just a quick reminder to those folks planning a golf outing for your Club. We have a couple of inexpensive items of Craftsmen merchandise which might be of interest as door prizes or other giveaways. We have a red soft plastic Golf Ball Sleeve (holds three balls) or a Golf Ditty bag, both of which are emblazoned with the IAPHC logo and both of which are for sale at the low price of only $5.00 US each. Mid-Hudson 20th Anniversary We received a nice e-mail from Dave Albrecht regarding the celebrations surrounding the recent 20th Anniversary bash for the Mid-Hudson Club. "We could not have had a better day. We started out with a Mini-Trade Show. 23 vendors from the area had a chance to meet Craftsmen and others from the local graphic arts community. We have a line on several new members because of it." Mid-Hudson also held a Gallery of Superb Printing in conjunction with the festivities. IAPHC Chairman Larry Nelson, IAPHC Vice-Chairman Jeanann Georgianna and many founding members of the Mid-Hudson Club were among the honored guests. Perhaps most importantly, 3 new members were inducted by Chairman Nelson. Our congratulations to Dave Albrecht and Betti Verbert and Jeff Mayer and the rest of the membership of Mid-Hudson for their hard work in hosting this event. New Second District Governor Speaking of Jeff Mayer, our congratulations also go to him for his election to the post of Second District IAPHC Governor which took place at the Second District Conference hosted by the Utica Club over the weekend. Jeff joins Mike Donnelly of the York Club who was elected as Fourth District Governor the week before as the newest IAPHC Governors. We wish them both success in their duties and responsibilities. Eric Sturton Award Winner We also must congratulate Fifth District Ray Rafalowski on being named the recipient of the Eric Sturton Award at the Fifth District Spring Conference hosted by the Evansville Club over the weekend. This award is highly prized and highly cherished in the Fifth and we join the members of that District in saluting a very deserving winner in Ray. Thank You Team Eleven! We had a chance this past weekend to visit the hotel which will be the site of the IAPHC Convention in the year 2000. The Peppermill Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada was also the location of the Convention in 1989 and is fondly remembered for being host to an excellent convention. Thereafter, we had a chance to drive with 11th District Governor Marjie Swiatek and her delightful husband Bob and International Organization and Leadership Chair Bill Price down to the District Spring Conference held in Rohnert Park, California. It was a wonderfully run meeting, giving a chance to see many old friends and make new ones. Team Eleven showed exacting intelligence mixed with a zest for having fun. It was an honor and a pleasure to be their guest. Thank You Team Eleven. Coming Soon Look for Delegate Credentials for Club delegates to the 79th IAPHC Convention in Rochester in August. The Credentials will be sent to Club Presidents via snail mail. |
