By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO International Printing Week, January 16-22, 2000. Dr. John Leininger, of Clemson University, and our tireless International Printing Week Chair reports that he has shipped quantities of the International Printing Week poster to all Craftsmen Clubs and has also now received the proclamations from Canadian Prime Minister Chretien and President Bill Clinton. Both proclamations will shortly be posted on Craftnet for easy downloading. Platinum Reserve Fund Our deepest thanks for the kind generosity of the Syracuse Club which contributed $250 in memory of Nolan Keane. Condolences Many of our Tenth District members received word about the tragic death at age 23 of Daniel Belanger, son of Tenth District Governor Norm Belanger. Many other members are familiar with Norm's hard work in the development of CraftNet and the production of the IAPHC Communicator. The entire Association extends sympathy to Norm and his family, and hope they may find comfort in the concern of so many friends. The Power of TMN (by Ray Lauria, Mid-Hudson Graphics Arts Association president) "Last month, I was in a customer's printing firm discussing all the mergers and acquisitions taking place in our industry. My customer had taken special interest in all the acquisitions being made by Cunningham Graphics International. He was surprised of my knowledge about some of their recent acquisitions. I explained to him about the power of the IAPHC, and The Knowledge Network of Y'KNOW, along with TMN. Well to make a long story short, he was inducted as a member of our Club that same evening. How's that for a testimonial as to the value of belonging to the IAPHC? Please welcome new member Mitch Schilkraut of JAM Printing." TMN Testimonials Not long ago, someone asked us what kind of reaction TMN receives. As we are impassioned believers in the power of testimonial marketing, it is nice to be able to report that TMN continues to receive a nice reception all over the world. Here's a five pack from the past five weeks. "Thank you for TMN, I find it very insightful and usually share it with other editors here." Katherine O'Brien, Editor, American Printer magazine. "This newsletter is the most comprehensive industry summary I have seen to date, both in style and content, and I would consider it the Wall Street Journal of printing news." Steve Davidson, Director of Sales, Graytor Printing, New Jersey. "I find the information really useful to our business over here." Niall Byrne, Prontaprint, England. "It is an absolute delight to read. It certainly keeps me abreast of industry developments. I also find it useful in making presentations to my customers when I want to cite an authoritative source." Mike Bullington, Sacramento, California. "I know you as someone from whom I receive witty, succinct and informative industry news." Stephanie Robinson, Xerox Canada in Calgary, Alberta.
