Club and IAPHC News
By Kevin Keane, IAPHC CEO

International Gallery Best of the Best Online!

We are pleased to announce the unveiling of a new section on CraftNet. Each of the 11 named awards (the 1998 International Gallery of Superb Printing Best of the Best) are now highlighted in an extensive and graphically appealing section on our award winning website. We again thank the sponsors of these named awards, each of which is a world class supplier to our industry. Go to: www.iaphc.org/events/gallery/bestof.htm

We would like to remind everyone that FREE copies of the 1999 International Gallery Call for Entries are available at IAPHC Headquarters as are copies of the 1998 Best of the Best full color printed brochure. You can request one or more copies to be mailed to you. And you can do so by phone 800-466-4274 or by fax 612-560-1350 or by e-mail kkeane1069@aol.com

Heinz Hofmann, president of the Diablo (California) Club called on 4 January to report that he is traveling to Accra, Ghana, Africa later this week and will be bringing copies of the 1999 Call for Entries, the 1998 Best of the Best Brochure and membership-at-large applications with him to distribute to the printing community in Ghana.

We applaud Heinz for his initiative, and remind everyone of two salient points:

1) The International Gallery accepts entries from every corner of the world, if you can help broaden our reach, it benefits all of us. Do you have a friend in the printing business in Cairo? Bogota? Punjab? Dublin? Warsaw? etc??? Why not send them a copy of the Call for Entries?

2) The entry period for the International Gallery is OPEN NOW!

Look For:
Issue # 2 of the IAPHC Communicator is coming to a mailbox near you. We remain grateful for the donations of the paper, prepress, and printing which have made it possible to increase the communication stream to each member. Jody Sorsen of Printed Media and Joe Benoit of Moore North America teamed to get the first issue out. This time Finch Paper and Jeff Mayer at Connecticut Printing and Graphics stepped to the plate to get issue # 2 produced. Additional all member mailings are being planned as well. We thank the generosity of the above noted members and promise to avoid imposing upon their good will too often!

That's all folks, except for sincere best wishes for a wonderful 1999!

Yours in Craftsmanship,

Kevin Keane IAPHC Minneapolis Minnesota
