Your Knowledge Network Obviously Works (Y'KNOW?) For all our first time TMN readers, and for soon to be IAPHC members like Peter Herman of Sinapse based in Paris, France who responded to our plea to support the further development of TMN's readership on six continents around the globe by becoming an IAPHC member -- Y'KNOW is a tremendous asset in your IAPHC membership. Since our last issue, we have been able to hook still more people together through the Y'KNOW network and those folks have been able to do business with one another. Y'KNOW is not merely local, it is global in its reach. Recently, David Freund of the Detroit Club needed a specialty printer. We hooked him up the same day through Y'KNOW with a printer we knew through their past International Gallery entries and that printer (a member!) wound up with $50,000 in new revenue. Not a bad return on her membership dues investment. Here are this week's Y'KNOW inquiries: o From Laurence LaForge of The Right Stuff of Tahoe: "We are introducing RightCardWare, software for creating and reading digitally encoded business cards. Our venture investors have phrased a number of questions about the size of the business card market. Given that you have readers at BCT, and AWT, and many independent business card producers as well, perhaps they would be willing to assist me in answering our investors questions, and they may also have an interest in our software offering." You can contact Larry at larry@The-Right-Stuff.com o From Marjie Swiatek of Dynagraphic Printing and the Sierra Nevada Club: I would like to hear from any of our members who run a Purup DPX computer to plate system. Thank you in advance." You can reply to Marjie at maswiatek@aol.com o From Milt Vine of Seattle Bindery and the Seattle Club: "We have a Lyon press and are looking for parts. This press is a Chinese knockoff of a Saroglia - an Italian press. The Brausse is another knockoff of the same press. We have a contact with the Brausse folks in Vancouver, BC., but are looking for a source for Lyon specific parts. Any ideas?" You can reach Milt at miltvine@seattlebindery.com o From member-at-large Mike Emanuelli of BCT, International in Boca Raton, Florida: "We are looking for a label provider based in one of the eastern Provinces of Canada who could assist our Canadian plants with their label orders. Please let me know if any of our members can help. Thanks!" You can reach Mike at BCTMikeE@aol.com o From North Shore member Jim Cottrell: "My company, QuebecorWorld is looking for a Sales Service Rep here in our Itasca, Illinois facility. If anyone would have an interest, please have them contact me and I will make sure they receive additional information." You can reach Jim at James.Cottrell@quebecorworld.com o From Topeka member Sara Hood: "I am looking for a printer who can do 4/0 postcards in smaller quantities. Can you help? Thanks so much!" You can reach Sara at sarahood@cjnetworks.com Calling All Bulletin Editors Just a clarification.
