Membership Matters As was mentioned last week and will be mentioned each week in these virtual pages, TMN is a member service of the IAPHC. It is read on six continents by graphic professionals in every aspect of our industry. If you are receiving TMN thru a virtual bounce, we would strongly encourage you to support our further development of TMN and the IAPHC by becoming a member. Last week Steve Kirby, Corporate VP of Operations for Dimac Corporation became a member of the St. Louis Club; James Kell, Senior VP of Sales for York Graphic Services requested that we send him a membership packet; and the Executive Assistant of Marc Olin, founder and CEO of printCafe called to get our tax ID information so she could set up the check for payment of his dues to our Pittsburgh Club. Isn't it time for you to join our ranks? Just send us an e-mail saying YES, and we will take care of the rest. Chairman's Messages Just a reminder to all Club bulletin editors, if you would like to receive any of Chairman Ray Rafalowski's messages (and companion photos) please let us know at IAPHC HQ. The messages (the September and October issues are available with more to come) have been spotted in several Club bulletins, but they should be seen in all. Let us know if we can e-mail the material to you. John Power the IAPHC Club Bulletin chair has also asked that all Club Bulletin editors send him an e-mail at his new online address jpower@heidelberg.ca.com so that John can build an address book to keep the communication flowing between the various editors and himself. Your cooperation is much appreciated. Y'KNOW Requests Your Knowledge Network Obviously Works (Y'KNOW?) From Detroit Club president David Freund: "I'm looking for a trade shop in the Midwest that can do a large number of pads. I have an order to place and I have filled up all of our local sources. I'm sure someone in the IAPHC has the kind of capacity I'm looking for. Please have them contact me at dfreund@grpinc.com Thanks." From Fresno member Russ Fowler: "I am working on writing Job Descriptions for everyone in our plant. I want to be very thorough in listing responsibilities and required activities. Is there anything available for our industry?" You can reach Russ via e-mail at russf@prestigeprinting.com From St. Louis member Chris Kerlick: "I need to find a source who can crash print, in six digits. The quantity of numbering needed will be quite large." You can contact Chris via e-mail at chrisklrk@aol.com From Richmond Club member Buddy Jones: "I need to find a source that can spot glue in register on a piece that needs to be folded." You can reach Buddy via e-mail at ejc5@home.com From Madison Area member Kathy Schoenick: "We have a customer interested in making a project work using 3D glasses. How is this stuff done anyway? The client saw it in National Geographic. Thanks in advance as we are anxiously awaiting any helpful info." You can reach Kathy via e-mail at kschoenick@strausprinting.com That is all Folks! -- 30 -- Yours in Craftsmanship, Kevin Keane |
