HQ Area code change

Just a quick note of reminder. The area code for the HQ office is now 763.

International Gallery gearing up

Three cool tools from the International Gallery of Superb Printing are now or soon to be available.

  1. The 2001 International Gallery Call for Entries is now available. Based on an inspired and eye catching design by Kathy Schoenick of the Madison Area Club, the 2001 Call for Entries was printed by Charles Tumminello and his crew at Mark Lithography in New Jersey and can be obtained via mail by contacting Dan Marantz, International Gallery Co-Chair or Lesley Addy at IAPHC. Lesley can also send our International readers a PDF file of the 2001 Call for Entries. The Call for Entries can also be downloaded from the International Gallery section of CraftNet, the IAPHC's website

  2. The online celebration of the year 2000 International Gallery Best of the Best winners is now available for your pleasurable perusing. It's a gorgeous display of the graphic arts prowess of our 20 sponsored award winners in 2000 and you should take the time to visit.

  3. The Best of the Best printed brochure honoring our 20 sponsors and their respective named award winners from the 2000 International Gallery is on press at Lake County Press in Waukegan, Illinois and will be available shortly.

The International Gallery was the only one of the three global graphic arts competitions to grow in 2000, as we surged 10% to 3,358 total entries.

Please note that the International Gallery remains the world's most economical event to enter.

But more importantly, the International Gallery is a great way to maintain client loyalty in an uncertain economy. We exhorted you earlier to not cut advertising expense in difficult times. Participation in the International Gallery is akin to advertising your capabilities to clients. As Amy Brinkman of Universal Press wrote on 9 November 2000:

"I am writing because I wanted to share a few of our experiences with you in the hopes that others might take advantage of the opportunities these awards present."

Amy went on to detail three separate episodes in which Universal received highmarks and ultimately increased business from clients.

Now that's good marketing!

So here are a few points to remember:

  1. Your International Gallery is growing
  2. It's still the best bargain
  3. Award success means happy clients
  4. The 2001 Call for Entries is available now
  5. The entry period is open until May 15th, 2001

The first entries have already been received. We look forward to yours.
