Chairman’s message, December 2004
Season’s greetings!
Our rebirth process is in full swing. Our bylaws committee has been meeting via conference call once a week and making good progress in rewriting our bylaws. The Board of Directors and then the membership should have something to review in January and discussion on our bylaws and possibly a vote will take place at our Mid-Year meeting scheduled for February in Las Vegas.
The execs and the directors had a board meeting, again via conference call, to discuss our progress to date and to review the merging of districts into regions. Most districts are organizing spring regional meetings for 2005. In the meantime, discussions on the mergers are proceeding in all the regions and issues like, what happens to district funds, how and if regions will charge dues, and how will directors be funded, are just some of the questions being addressed by the regions. Spring conference should be a “must attend” for all concerned members.
Our CEO Kevin held a special face-to-face meeting of the VPs in Minneapolis this past October. The meeting was very productive and a series of goals and deliverables with timelines was produced as a group. The VPs had an opportunity to report on their progress to the Board of Directors during our recent conference call. The Board was very impressed with the progress being made by our International Officers under the direction of our CEO. A full report will be made at the Mid-Year meeting and progress will be reported to the general membership. A copy of the Vice-Presidents’ PDF presentation is currently posted to our IAPHC.org web site in the member’s only section. Go have a look!
As I write this message, the International Execs are planning a meeting in Jacksonville in early December, to finalize arrangements for the Jacksonville Convention, review a proposal for convention 2006 in Mexico, review our finances and plan the agenda for Mid-Year.
Both Louise and I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a hopeful and prosperous New Year.
