IAPHC Announces the International Craftsman of the Year 1999 The International Craftsman of the Year award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated the highest levels of Craftsmanship on the Local, District and/or International levels. As the highest recognition awarded by the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, it serves as a singular mark of distinction from a grateful membership. Those who have earned this tribute form a virtual "Hall of Fame" of Craftsmanship. The IAPHC 1999 International Craftsman of the Year award was presented to Bill Price, during the closing ceremonies of the IAPHC convention held in St. Louis, Missouri, August 10, 1999. Bill Price joined the Sierra Nevada Club in 1984. In 1988 he served as club Second-Vice President, receiving the club's Craftsman of the Year award. He then served as International Convention Co-Chair (1989), and became President of the Sierra Nevada Club in 1989-90. Saying, he had to "do it over, because he didn't get it right the first time," Bill served a second term in that office. He received the 11th District President of the Year award in 1991. Following his Presidency, Bill continued to serve on numerous club committees including; Chairman of the Bulletin, Education and Scholarship, Services Auction and Budget committees. He was also the first Golf chairman, (a position he held for four years). Bill received the Premier Craftsman award in 1992. On the District level, Bill served as Deputy Governor for only a few months before being elected as the first President of the 11th District, a position he held for 2 years. Bill also chaired several spring conferences and served on numerous district committees. International achievements include, International Bulletin Chair 1994-96, and International Organization and Leadership Chair for 1997-98, during which he prepared the now famous "Presidents Binder" as an outstanding tool for every club. In his spare time Bill sells for DynaGraphic Printing. He has a vast knowledge of both product and production, making him an asset to both the company he works for, and the clients he serves. These are the facts and figures that define Bill Price's Craftsman career. But they only tell part of the story. Bill credits the Craftsman Club with much of the success that he has enjoyed in his career and life. With humor and ease Bill Price continues to serve the IAPHC with dedication and commitment. Currently Bill is co-chair once again of the International Convention, hosted by the Sierra Nevada Club in Reno, August 4th - 8th 2000. |
