IAPHC
International Craftsman of the Year Announced
at the 83rd
International Convention in Baltimore, August 2007. |
The International Craftsman of the Year
award is presented annually by the IAPHC to an individual in
recognition of their dedication to the industry and the
association.
The recipient is nominated both in
writing and then verbally endorsed during the IAPHC
International Mid Winter Board Meeting by fellow members of
the IAPHC and is chosen by the Board of Directors. It is
considered to be the highest individual award presented by
the IAPHC, Inc.
Cindy
Johnson has been an employee of John Deere and Company
for 31 years, a member of the IAPHC for 30 years and at her
15th International Convention she was surprised and honored
with the IAPHC International Craftsman of the Year Award.
Local, Regional and International
Involvements.
Cindy has served on every committee and in every
position on her Chapter and District Board as well as 4
years as the International 8th District Governor. She is
back again as an alternate Director for the Central Region.
Cindy was instrumental in the planning
and execution of the Albuquerque 2002 International IAPHC
Convention.
Prior to receiving the unanimous vote
from the Board of Directors as the 2007 International
Craftsman of the Year, Cindy also has received the Chapter
Craftsman of the year award, the 8th District Craftsman of
the year award and the International Governor of the Year
award as well as several Chairman’s Citations.
After serving with many fellow
Craftsmen on the Strategic Business Plan Committee in 2004,
Cindy was appointed to the Vice President of Communications
position, one that she continues to hold.
As the Vice President of
Communications, Cindy is in regular communication with the
entire IAPHC membership through bi-weekly E-Blasts enforcing
and encouraging the EPIC, Educate, Promote, Inform, Connect
mantra of the IAPHC. In addition Cindy is responsible for
compiling articles, editing and designing the IAPHC printed
publication, "The Communicator".
When asked what Craftsmanship meant to
her, Cindy responded that mostly it was the benefit of the
business networking and professional friendships.
"Involvement with the IAPHC has helped to provide my
employer with substantial financial savings in the work
force through my networking opportunities. On a personal
level, the IAPHC has provided me with experiences and
education in leadership skills and public speaking. I enjoy
the strength in working in a team environment and the
satisfaction of accomplished goals through that teamwork."
